CTOS(www.ctoscredit.com.my), Malaysia’s leading private credit rating agency, provides a service for managing business credit risks through services such as credit inquiries, customer monitoring, and transaction tracking, facilitating individuals and enterprises to access critical information more seamlessly and promptly.

Primarily, CTOS relied on MySQL DBMS for a significant amount of data as its core system. With an increase in data and user usage, CTOS experienced serious performance degradation. To address this issue, data was stored across multiple databases, enabling distributed processing of users. However, as data consistently accumulated across each database server, bottleneck phenomena occurred, leading to a continual delay in query response time. Moreover, MySQL showed limitations in scalability, necessitating the purchase of new data servers to resolve the issue.

To resolve data inconsistency from data dispersion, Tibero integrated multiple client databases into one. Additionally, Tibero established a scalable system in response to increasing customers, enabling CTOS to strategically adapt to market changes.

Many of Tibero’s core technologies have been applied to this project, one of which is Tibero Active Cluster(TAC), establishing zero-downtime deployment with a shared-disk-based architecture. Also, Tibero JDBC drive and hibernate dialect expedite existing Java application integration with no need to change code.

By implementing Transparent Data Encryption(TDE), table space, and data column encryption features, Tibero provides a system that complies to the data security algorithms mandated by the Malaysian government.
