Indonesia’s Coretax System Expands to Seven Nodes with Tibero Active Cluster(TAC)
Tibero supports Indonesia’s nationwide tax administration platform, demonstrating enterprise-grade high availability and scalability in a mission-critical public-sector environment.
TmaxTibero announced that Tibero DB is powering Indonesia’s next-generation tax administration system, Coretax, operated by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) under Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance.
Coretax is a nationwide digital transformation initiative that consolidates key tax administration processes—including taxpayer registration, filing, payment, refunds, audits, and collection—into a unified platform.
The system processes taxpayer information at a nationwide scale and handles large volumes of transactions, making database availability, scalability, and operational stability critical to its ongoing operation.
High Availability with Tibero Active Cluster
Tibero was selected as the core database platform for the Coretax system, which was implemented by LG CNS in collaboration with Austrian IT company Qualysoft.
As part of the project, the existing Oracle RAC environment was migrated to Tibero Active Cluster (TAC), TmaxTibero’s shared-disk, active-active database clustering technology.
TAC enables multiple database nodes to operate concurrently, providing high availability and business continuity for mission-critical workloads. In the event of a node failure, workloads can continue to be served by the remaining nodes, minimizing the risk of service disruption.
Scaling from Two to Seven Nodes
Coretax was initially deployed with a two-node TAC configuration and has since been expanded to seven nodes to accommodate growing user and transaction volumes.
The expansion was carried out while maintaining service continuity, demonstrating Tibero’s ability to scale its high-availability architecture as the requirements of a nationwide public-sector system evolve.
The seven-node deployment also provides a significant reference for Tibero in large-scale, mission-critical environments where continuous availability and horizontal scalability are essential.
A Global Reference for Enterprise Database Technology
The Coretax system is part of Indonesia’s broader effort to modernize tax administration and strengthen data-driven public services. Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance reported that tax revenue reached IDR 1,035.7 trillion in the first half of 2026, up 24.6% year over year, while the Indonesian tax authority has cited improvements in tax administration and compliance as part of the broader impact of the Coretax transformation.
The successful operation and continued expansion of Tibero within Coretax further strengthens TmaxTibero’s track record in large-scale public-sector and enterprise environments.
LG CNS recently received a plaque of appreciation from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes for its contribution to the implementation and stabilization of Coretax. TmaxTibero was also officially invited to the ceremony in recognition of its role as a key database technology provider for the system.
Proven at National Scale
“Tibero has played an important role in supporting the stability of Coretax, one of Indonesia’s most critical national systems,” said Taek-kyun Na, Head of Global Business at TmaxTibero. “The expansion of TAC from two to seven nodes demonstrates our ability to support the evolving requirements of mission-critical environments while maintaining high availability and operational continuity.”
He added, “With technology and operational experience validated in a nationwide tax administration system, we will continue expanding Tibero’s presence across global public-sector and enterprise markets.”
Through the Coretax deployment, TmaxTibero is strengthening its global reference base for mission-critical database environments and demonstrating the scalability and high-availability capabilities of Tibero in large-scale public-sector systems.
